Embracing VBP Fundamentals: Apply Meaningful Acknowledgment and Appreciation

When was the last time you acknowledged and appreciated someone?

In the hustle and bustle of everyday work life, it’s easy to overlook the importance of acknowledgment and appreciation. These two simple yet profound gestures hold the power to uplift, inspire, and ignite a sense of belonging among Team Members.

Words matter a lot. Taking the time to pause and appreciate the people around you fosters an environment where everyone feels valued.

Fueling Motivation: The Power of Acknowledgment and Appreciation

Meaningful acknowledgment goes beyond mere recognition; it’s about truly seeing and valuing the contributions of each Team Member. Whether it’s a heartfelt “thank you” for a job well done, a public shout-out in a team meeting, or a handwritten note expressing gratitude, every act of acknowledgment is like a ripple in a pond, spreading positivity and encouragement throughout the organisation.

It reinforces the idea that their efforts are not just noticed but deeply valued. The simple acts of acknowledgment and appreciation serve as motivational fuel, inspiring Team Members to continue striving for excellence and contributing their best towards shared goals.

Fundamental of the Week: Apply Meaningful Acknowledgment and Appreciation

The VBP Fundamentals stand as pillars of excellence, guiding each member of our team toward growth, empathy, and success. These principles, rooted in our core values, not only shape our actions but also foster an environment where every Team Member thrives.

The VBP Fundamentals have a transformative power as it builds value through habits, as each interaction, decision, and initiative is infused with the guiding principles.

Discover how the VBP Fundamental impacts our Team Members. Here is one of their insights:

“ Thank you for this reminder to provide meaningful acknowledgment and appreciation. As an extrovert most of the time, I thrive on receiving helpful feedback and acknowledgment in many aspects of my life. Who doesn’t like hearing that they are appreciated, that their efforts are seen, and that their contributions to the group are indispensable, right?

In the workplace, it is vital to hear acknowledgment and appreciation from your colleagues and superiors. Every word said can be as important as a bomb dropping. I have a personal motto when it comes to words, “The ax forgets but the tree remembers.” It’s a simple sentence that condenses the impact of words on people.

So that is why it is important to give feedback always and appreciate people loudly. Everyone loves a kind word. No matter if you’re giving criticism or giving out appreciation, always be kind. Choose your words appropriately.”

Naomi Gamos, FPA

In the tapestry of our organisation, each VBP Fundamental is a thread, intricately woven to create a culture of excellence, integrity, and growth.
