Making a Difference: VBP Gives Back to Children’s Haven

At VBP, community is at the heart of what we do. Our team members, clients, and partners have a shared belief in the value of giving back and creating meaningful impact not only through our organisation’s services but also through initiatives that bring hope and support to our communities.

Every year, VBP Clients and Partners fly to Cebu for the annual VBP Conference. This event brings together industry peers and like-minded financial professionals and is a wonderful opportunity to introduce clients to one of VBP’s partner communities.

This year, the People & Culture (P&C) – People Experience team in collaboration with the VBP Caring Kangaroos, a non-profit interest group within VBP, organised an outreach program for the benefit of the children of Albert Schweitzer Familienwerk Foundation Philippines or also commonly as Children’s Haven-Cordova”.

During the event, 80 kits, each containing essentials like toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, soap, deodorant, and snacks, were distributed to the children. Additionally, 173 books, donated by our Team Members, along with 2 bookshelves, 2 board games, 2 stand fans, 15 blankets, 50 pieces of beef noodles, 100 pcs of canned goods, and 2 sacks of 25kg rice were handed over to the partner foundation.

The rest of the afternoon was both productive and enjoyable for our clients and volunteers as they worked together assembling the new bookshelves, played with the kids, and toured the orphanage facilities.

“Volunteering for the outreach program and personally witnessing the joy and gratitude on the children’s faces was both heartwarming and rewarding. The whole experience was a powerful reminder of the impact of community and compassion, and I am beyond grateful to have shared the experience of contributing to such a meaningful cause with the VBP team members and clients,” said Jelikka Catayas, Financial Planning Assistant and Caring Kangaroo Volunteer.

As we reflect on the success of this year’s VBP Conference, we look forward to continuing our efforts to give back to our communities, driven by the commitment of our clients and volunteers. Together, we will continue to make meaningful impact on the lives of those who need support. With this said, we extend our deepest gratitude to all who participated—your contributions have touched lives and will inspire future efforts.
